This fresh mozzarella is so good and easy and is perfect for serving alongside fresh tomatoes and basil from the garden. Below you can see exactly how to make this fresh cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon of whole milk (not ultra-pasteurized)

  • 1 1/4 teaspoons of citric acid

  • 1/4 teaspoon of liquid rennet (or 1/4 tablet of rennet, dissolved in 1/4 cup of cool, unchlorinated water)

  • 1 teaspoon of cheese salt (optional)

  • 1/4 cup of cool, unchlorinated water
